What is Realm?
Realm is the database we use to track and communicate with congregants as well as for giving. Realm is our main tool used for communication and engagement. It’s a church software that has an app and website that was developed for group communication, planning events within groups, giving, and to access information about individuals or groups within our congregation.
Why Use Realm?
Your major tools to stay connected will all be in one place! Your privacy is important to us. This is not a public social network, it’s a private engagement tool with multiple layers of security and privacy. So your information will not be shared with others unless you give permission to do so.
Communication and Engagement
Realm’s primary purpose is community engagement by connecting you with the members of the groups that you participate in. You will have access to your fellow group member’s contact information based on their privacy settings.
Giving
Realm provides advanced giving capabilities such as mobile tithing and easy access to giving statements. You can even text-in your tithing amount on a Sunday morning!
Event Registration
Realm has easy access to event registration. You will be able to search for specific events as well as sign up and give payment for events.
PROFILES
Our goal is to be able to connect every face and every name. You can help by keeping your profile information updated. When you log in you can change or add your email address, phone number, and even change your profile picture.
GROUPS
Stay in touch with others at FBC Lake Dallas or meet new people. Groups are a great way to get and stay connected. For example, your Bible Study Group has a group in Realm to keep the discussion going throughout the week.
GIVING
Manage your tithes and giving as recurring or one-time donations in a secure, easy-to-use environment. Contribution statements are always available. All of your giving records may be viewed in Realm.
FAQ
How Do I Access Realm
You will receive an invitation email from FBC Lake Dallas to sign-up for Realm. After you’ve followed the steps from the original invitation email, you can access Realm via the website or the app.
- Website: onrealm.org
- App: Realm Connect — The Connect app is available in the App Store and in Google Play. Your log-in will be the email address you received your invitation to and the password you established when creating your Realm log-in.
Giving Through Realm
There are several benefits for our church family in using Realm’s online giving system.
- It is a simple and convenient way to give from your phone, tablet, or computer and allows you to access your giving statements and pledge status whenever needed.
- It allows you to simplify your giving by creating a weekly, monthly, or quarterly recurring donation that automatically draws from your bank account or credit/debit card on the date you specify. Your regular giving to the church continues even when you are out of town or unable to come to church.
- It is secure. Realm uses an encrypted secure website for online giving to ensure the protection of your sensitive information.
- It allows you to update and manage your banking and or card information.
Who Can See My Contact Information
- Realm is only made up of the people in our church, it is not a social network that is open to anyone. FBC Lake Dallas staff are the only people able to add to the online directory.
- By default, your address, phone number, and other contact information can only be seen by staff members, leaders, or members of the groups you participate in.
- Everyone else with a login can only see your name and photo associated with your profile. In order for anyone else to see your information, you must adjust your privacy setting and opt-in to the directory.
- Want to change the information you allow Realm users to see? Visit your privacy settings on your profile page. Primary Adults may also change the privacy settings of all members of their family.
